There’s a LOT going on at Mission Equality HQ currently; new team members, a new Black Paper we’re about to release. The following is also something we’ve recently formalised based on a big chunk of the work we’ve been doing over the past three years…
Most organisations talk about values but very few actually operationalise them, well. And almost none have a mechanism to fix it when the source of organisational harm - and values misalignment - sits at the very top.
Let me be blunt…
Systems don’t fail because people are inherently ‘bad’, they fail because the power that exists in an organisation isn’t truly aligned with accountability, clarity, and behavioural consistency. In plain speak: When power remains concentrated at the top, despite systems (frameworks, policies, processes etc.) designed for this to be different, those systems will fail.
That’s exactly why I’ve spent the best part of 3 years working on what we now call the Executive Reset - a six-month, embedded leadership transformation designed for organisations that:
Can’t sustain growth because leadership behaviour - especially at the very top - is unpredictable.
See repeated harm even with good intentions.
Have a founder or CEO whose actions and impact don’t match their ideals (or the organisation’s values).
